Coronavirus in Chennai: Condition of DMK MLA J Anbazhagan remains critical

CHENNAI: The health condition of DMK MLA J Anbazhagan, admitted to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre at Chromepet in Chennai on June 2, continued to remain critical, doctors treating him said on Friday morning.
“He is on ventilator, but his parameters are stable,” said a doctor.
On Thursday evening, a bulletin from Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre CEO Dr Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy said Anbazhagan was admitted to hospital with severe acute respiratory distress and tests confirmed that he was positive for Covid-19.
"Initially, he was managed with oxygen therapy through facemask. Later, he was put on ventilator support as his respiratory distress had worsened. He is currently getting 80% oxygen through the ventilator, and his condition remains unchanged for the last 24 hours," Dr Ilankumaran said.
Anbazhagan represents the Chepauk constituency in Chennai in the Tamil Nadu assembly.
