CHENNAI: The elder brother of the girl who was gang-raped and murdered by five people in a Tiruvallur village, has blamed police for their lethargy.
"In our complaint submitted on September 7, 2018, we had named the prime suspect who is from our village."
"Police detained Sundar* and he was questioned. Soon after this, Jagadeesan, 50, bailed Sundar out claiming that he was employed at his farmland," said the Class XII student.

"Along with my father, relatives and friends I searched for her everywhere. We missed out the guest house attached to the motor pump shed that belonged to Nathamuni, 52, who is also arrested in the rape case," said the boy before bursting into tears.
"Every day, both of us carried milk cans along with school bags to distribute them to a few houses. On September 7, 2018, she left 10 minutes earlier with her classmate Sangeetha. Though Sangeetha rushed to the school, my sister got delayed. Apparently, Sundar took my sister with him. I searched all along the places except the guest house next to the pump shed belonged to Nathamuni, where my sister was detained for five days and sexually assaulted by these criminals." Prakash said.
He demanded death sentence to all the five convicts. (*Name changed)
