Domestic flight services resume at Chennai airport
Flight services resumed at Chennai airport with an IndiGo aircraft taking off at 6.30am
CHENNAI: Domestic flight operations, which had been suspended for two months due to lockdown, resumed at Chennai airport on Monday with an IndiGo flight taking off at 6.35am to New Delhi.
An AirAsia flight that arrived from New Delhi at 8.15am was the first flight to land.
There will be only 19 departures and 16 arrivals on Monday as the state government gave permission to start operations late on Sunday night.

The departures are to Delhi, Bengaluru, Madurai, Port Blair, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Varanasi, Rajahmundry, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Hyderabad. The last departure is at 9.30pm and the last arrival is at 10.10pm.
Most of the passengers reached the airport in private vehicles as cabs and public transport are not available. Prepaid airport taxis were arranged by airport authorities for passengers who landed from different cities to reach home.

The state government has stipulated that there should be only 25 arrivals at Chennai airport daily.
