CHENNAI: After the Supreme Court refused to stay the CBI probe into the gutkha scam, the DMK and the PMK on Friday wanted Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to drop health minister C Vijaya Baskar and director general of police T K Rajendran from their posts.
In a statement, DMK working president M K Stalin said the names of the health minister and the director general of police were mentioned in the case.

"The health minister and the DGP are accused of having received money for allowing gutkha to be sold in the state. Gutkha causes cancer," said Stalin.
PMK leader S Ramadoss wanted the CBI to start the probe immediately. "Now that the Supreme Court has refused to stay the CBI probe, health minister and DGP continuing in their posts is big shame. The chief minister must immediately remove them from their posts," Ramadoss said in a statement.
