CHENNAI: Soon, the consumers of Aavin will get a dose of Thirukural daily. Tamil Nadu diary minister, Rajenthra Balaji, has responded positively to BJP’s request to print his couplets on the Aavin milk sachets. But the assurance is with a rider that it would be put in practice only after CM Edapaddi K Palaniswami's nod.
State BJP IT wing president CTR Nirmal Kumar, who stoked a controversy by posting Thiruvalluvar in saffron robe and put ‘Vibhuti’, requested the minister to print the saint poet’s couplets on Aavin milk sachet and other products to take his literary work and legacy to each household daily, via tweet.

“By printing Thirukural's couplet on the milk sachets, it will help in spreading the couplets with ease to each household,” Nirmal tweeted urging the minister. He also attached a screen shot and a detailed letter along with the tweet.
Within an hour of the tweet, the minister responded in affirmation. “Soon, we will get the permission of the chief minister and print Thirukural couplets on Aavin milk pockets,” he tweeted tagging Edappadi K Palaniswami.
With this move, the BJP state level functionaries have also kept the Thiruvalluvar campaign alive and kicking to corner and counter DMK. BJP’s national general secretary Muralidhar Rao had criticised DMK chief MK Stalin saying that the poet was “not a DMK cadre” and they cannot claim ownership over his legacy.
He also instructed the party leaders and cadres to keep alive the Thiruvalluvar campaign and asked them to distribute pocket sized Thirukural books to their friends and sympathisers.
