20 officials reshuffled in bureaucratic rejig
DEHRADUN: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Uttarakhand government on Thursday evening made some important changes in the state bureaucracy by reshuffling 16 IAS, 2 PCS officers and 2 officials of the secretariat service. Newly-appointed Garhwal commissioner Shailesh Bagauli was given additional responsibility of the secretary of the transport department as well as CEO of the Smart City project.
D Senthil Pandiyan, the incumbent secretary of the transport department who also holds charge of the agriculture and horticulture dpeartments was incidentally divested of the transport portfolio on the day that a major bus accident in Tehri district involving a state transport department bus claimed 14 lives. Some key departments were also taken away from IAS officer Pankaj Kumar Pandey who was recently in the news when controversy broke out that his residence had been spared by demolition teams despite the boundary wall having been marked.
Pandey was divested of the charge of secretary (information), director general (information) as well as director of the technical education and training departments and was instead named as the secretary in-charge of the panchayati raj department.
Senior IAS officer Manisha Panwar who is in-charge of the rural development and MSME departments was divested of the charge of principal secretary (panchayati raj) while secretary (tourism) Dilip Jawalkar was divested of the charge of CEO of Smart City project. Jawalkar was given additional charge of the secretary of the information department while IAS officer Deependra Kumar Chaudhary, currently additional secretary (urban development and mining) was given additional charge of the director general (information) post.
In other significant changes, Iqbal Ahmed was removed from the post of district magistrate (DM) of Champawat and made additional secretary in-charge of higher education, skill development and director of technical education and training. IAS officer Ashish Joshi, who was the district magistrate of Chamoli was named the new additional secretary in-charge of the agriculture and horticulture departments. Surendra Narayan Pandey, commissioner and secretary of the revenue council was made the new DM of Champawat district. Nitin Bhadoria, currently chief town officer of Haridwar and in-charge of the Haridwar Development Authority was made the new DM of Almora while Swati Bhadoria, chief development officer of Haridwar got the charge of DM Chamoli.Vineet Tomar, joint magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar was made chief development officer of Haridwar. Iva Ashish Srivastava, DM Almora was made additional secretary of the general administration department.
The charge of additional secretary agriculture department was taken from IAS officer Ram Bilas Yadav who continues to retain the posts of additional secretary of rural development and social welfare dpeartments as well as director of Uttarakhand Social Audit, Accountability & Transparency Agency.
In few other changes, DM Haridwar Deepak Rawat was given the additional charge of Haridwar Development Authority while additional secretary in the revenue department Bal Mayank Mishra was given the responsibility of commissioner and secretary of revenue council.
PCS officer Ravneet Cheema, formerly Dehradun’s municipal commissioner, was appointed additional secretary primary education. Another PCS officer Bhagwat Kishore Mishra, who is currently ADM (Administration) Hariwdar has been given the additional charge of chief town officer Haridwar.
