Earlier this month, on July 11, a 15-year-old girl Mansi Bisht was killed after being hit by a speeding dumper on Shimla Bypass road, prompting district magistrate to order installation of speed governors and CCTV cameras along the notorious stretch.
Later, director general (DG) law and order Ashok Kumar ordered the district police to enforce no entry of heavy vehicles into the city during the already set timings. Besides, directions were also passed to file FIRs against the driver and the owner of the vehicle in case of an accident.
