DEHRADUN: As many as 34 new cases of
dengue were reported in
Dehradun on Saturday taking the toll of patients suffering from the vector-borne disease to 302 in the capital city and 313 in the state in the last 41 days. According to health department, the new cases were reported from
Raipur block of the city.
Dr SK Gupta, Dehradun chief medical officer (CMO), told TOI that 21 males and 13 females were diagnosed with dengue on August 10.
“With over 80 per cent of dengue cases being reported from localities of Raipur area, our focus is to avoid water stagnation in the locality. People are advised to take precautions to ensure that there is no breeding of
mosquito larvae around them. We have urged locals to wear full-sleeves clothes and use mosquito nets,” said the CMO. Meanwhile, the health department inspected MLA hostel area in Race Course after
Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat’s wife was diagnosed with dengue on Friday.
According to team members, larvae of dengue mosquitoes were found in water coolers in over a dozen houses in the area.
