Dehradun: Seven-year-old girl killed as speeding truck rams scooter

DEHRADUN: In an unfortunate incident that accentuated the spate of rash driving mishaps in the city recently, a seven-year-old girl was killed and her mother suffered serious injuries after the scooter they were travelling was hit from behind by a speeding truck in Nehru Colony police station area of Dehradun on Sunday.
The accident took place near Mohkampur when 31-year-old Rita Khulbe and her daughter seven-year-old Priyanshi were returning from Laxman Sidh temple to their home at Gorakhpur Chowk near Defence Colony.“Both the mother and the daughter were taken to a nearby private hospital where Priyanshi died during treatment and mother is still undergoing treatment,” said a police official.
