Ghummakkad Narain Children’s Literature Festival begins in Dehradun

The Ghummakkad Narain Children’s Literature Festival which kickstarted on Wednesday saw sessions being held for over 600 school students at the Jaswant Modern School & Welham Girls’ School on Thursday.

DEHRADUN: The Ghummakkad Narain Children’s Literature Festival which kickstarted on Wednesday saw sessions being held for over 600 school students at the Jaswant Modern School & Welham Girls’ School on Thursday.
The festival is organised in the memory of Thakur Vishva Narain Singh who was a literateur, writer and the pioneer of Braille literature in India.
The sessions on Thursday were addressed by writer Deepa Agarwal as well as filmmakers Tomasaz & Zofia who showed their film on Warsaw Uprising by Polish children.
Shaguna Gahilote narrated stories from her book, Curious Tales from the Himalayas while historian and author Parvati Sharma took children in a ride back in history talking about stories of Babur & the 1857 uprising. The literature festival will conclude on Friday.
