HARIDWAR: After the family and relatives of the 16-year-old girl, who was accused of her mother's murder and was found dead in a Kedarpuram shelter home, did not claim his body for 72 hours, police held the cremation at Lakhibagh cremation ground in Dehradun on Sunday.
The father of the deceased, who works as a labourer in Punjab, had "disowned" his daughter and kept no connection with her since her arrest in 2018 on charges of killing her mother, who was allegedly forcing her into prostitution.

The girl lodged in Balika Niketan in Dehradun was found dead on Wednesday night. Mystery around the case deepened after the girl's post-mortem report remained inconclusive and sources pointed to poisoning as the reason behind her death.
