Dehradun air force pilot among 2 killed in Bengaluru crash

DEHRADUN: An Indian Air force fighter pilot hailing from Dehradun was among the two IAF pilots killed after they ejected from a Mirage 2000 fighter during its take-off run at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) runway in Bengaluru on Friday.
Squadron leader Siddharth Negi, 31, originally hails from Dehradun. He was commissioned into the IAF in June 2009. His family lives in Panditwadi area of Dehradun.
According to sources, Siddharth had got married three years ago to Rubika Negi, who also works with the IAF.
His father Balbir Singh Negi is a retired inspector of Uttarakhand police and is currently working as a security and liaison officer at Graphic Era University.
“He has an elder sister who also lives in Dehradun. Siddharth did his schooling from Dehradun. His father Balbir Singh Negi had served in Dehradun police as the in-charge of Doiwala police station,” said a senior police official.
