“We received information that a luxury car with Haryana number plate hit a cow and its calf near Wadia institute leaving both dead. Based on eye witness account, we located the car at Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. We are now trying to verify the identity of the driver,” said Hemant Khanduri, in charge of Vasant Vihar police station.
This is a rare incident in which police have registered an accident case involving cattle. A police officer said, “Such incidents keep happening but we don’t register FIRs. We treated it as a case of rash driving as anybody could have been in the place of the animals.”
