MBBS student of Dehradun medical college commits suicide

DEHRADUN: A 2016 batch MBBS student of Doon medical college committed suicide on Saturday night. The student is a resident of Gurugram, Haryana.
His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan of his hostel room at around 9 pm, the college administration said.
The hostel warden was informed by the parents of the student, when their repeated calls to their son failed to get any response.

According to sources in the medical college, the student was under depression due to poor performance for the past few years and had been taking medicines for it.
The sources added that he failed to clear first year exams.
Confirming the death, principal of medical college, Dr. Ashutosh Sayana said, “It is quite a sad incident. We have lost one student tonight. His parents are on their way from Gurugram. Police is conducting the investigation. Hence, commenting anything on the reason behind such an incident will be inappropriate
