DEHRADUN: A newborn girl was found abandoned in an agricultural field along the Doon-Paonta highway under Sahaspur police station area of Dehradun on Friday morning.
The infant, believed to be just a few hours old, was spotted by locals, who immediately informed police. Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot and admitted her to a hospital in Sahaspur, about 20km from Dehradun.
“We heard a crying noise from the road side.We went to the spot and saw a newborn lying in a farm,” said a local resident.
