Subharti issue being investigated: Govt
DEHRADUN: A day after the management of Dehradun-based Shridev Suman Subharti Medical College alleged that the Uttarakhand government has presented wrong information in the Supreme Court (SC), state’s advocate on Sunday said that the allegations of irregularities in setting up of Ras Bihari Bose Subharti University during the Harish Rawat-led Congress government’s regime are in public domain and the matter is being investigated.

Earlier, the state government had told the SC that Subharti was operating over 12 colleges, including hostels for students, in just three buildings.
Talking to TOI, deputy advocate general (AG) of Uttarakhand, Jatinder Kumar Sethi said that affidavit of the university submitted in Supreme Court proves that several courses were being conducted from the same campus using common facilities.
However, senior medical superintendent of Subharti, Dr Atul Krishnan told TOI that the court has asked the university to only submit details clarifying what assets belong to the university and what belongs to the medical college. “The Uttarakhand government wants to take over the entire university but the court had passed orders to take over only the medical college,” he said, adding that the court has reprimanded the AG for giving unnecessary suggestions with any government orders.
