Tiger’s body fished out of stream in CTR

Tiger’s body fished out of stream in CTR
Nainital: The body of a male tiger was recovered from Dhela range of Corbett Tiger Reserve on Saturday afternoon. CTR officials believe the big cat had fallen into a stream while fighting with another tiger, which killed him. The body was fished out of the stream and cremated after post-mortem and collection of viscera samples.
Sanjiv Chaturvedi, officiating director of the CTR said, “Initial findings show a few injuries on the tiger.
It seems the animal fell in the stream while its flow was fast. It had rained heavily on June 11.” The viscera samples were collected for further tests to be done according to National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) guidelines.
This is the fifth death of a tiger recorded in Uttarakhand this year and the third in CTR.
