DEHRADUN: In a bid attract industrialists to the Himalayan state, Uttarakhand government is set to hold a two-day Uttarakhand Industrial Summit at Haridwar from September 27. The summit will be held in a joint venture with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The Industrial Summit 2019 is in line with the previous four editions of Industrial Expo in Uttarakhand. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Investors’ Summit of October 2018 was a successful event and the upcoming Industrial Summit would further help in bringing investment into the state.

In the two-day event, the state government has invited industrialists, who had assured to invest into the state during last year’s Investors Summit. “We will give the letter of appreciation to industrialists, who have already invested in the state. Concerns and queries of industrialists will also be addressed during the two-day event. It is worth mentioning that the state has received investments worth Rs 17,246 crore since the Investors Summit of October, 2018,” Rawat said.
CM Rawat pointed out that the investments which have come to the state in the last 11 months helped generate around 45,000 jobs. “The maximum response has come from sectors of bio-tech, pharma, energy and food processing. It is encouraging to see that people are willing to make investments in the hills as well. The industrialists, who have made investment into the state, will share their experience and tell about the facilities given to them. Their experience will definitely encourage others to invest in Uttarakhand,” added CM Rawat.
The first day of the event would focus on issues of sustainable packaging and waste management. On the concluding day, there would be vendor development programmes for MSMEs, a session on enhancing competitiveness of the MSMEs, an exhibition, among others. Over 45 exhibitors from Maharashtra, Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Haryana, Odisha, Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand would be part of the exhibition.
