Uttarakhand: 60-year-old from Mussoorie dies of swine flu

Swine flu toll touched 25 on Wednesday with the death of a 60-year-old woman from Mussoorie. Also, with 7 more H1N1 positive cases reported to the health department, the total number of swine flu affected patients has crossed the mark of 161 in Uttarakhand.

DEHRADUN: Swine flu toll touched 25 on Wednesday with the death of a 60-year-old woman from Mussoorie. Also, with 7 more H1N1 positive cases reported to the health department, the total number of swine flu affected patients has crossed the mark of 161 in Uttarakhand.
Dr SK Gupta, chief medical officer, Dehradun, told TOI that the deceased was admitted at Mahant Indresh Hospital from past couple of days.

The mortality rate in cases related to swine flu in 2019 has become a cause of concern for the health department in Uttarakhand. In Dehradun, 25 people have died of H1N1 since January 3 while total 161 cases were confirmed of H1N1 influenza.
“Hundred-seventeen patients of swine flu are admitted at Mahant Indresh Hospital, while 22 are admitted in Max hospital. Doon Synergy is treating eight patients of swine flu and four are undergoing treatment at Kailash hospital. Two more patients are admitted in private hospitals of the city,” said the CMO.
The CMO has also issued a swine flu alert and guidelines in city school with instruction for the students to avoid getting infected to swine flu.
