Uttarakhand local body polls: 33 percent voting till 12pm in Udham Singh Nagar
Police detained BJP councilor candidate from ward number 8
RUDRAPUR : Amid sporadic clashes between Congress and BJP workers around 33 percent voting was recorded till 12pm in the local bodies’ polls across district Udham Singh Nagar on Sunday.
According to the figures released by Electoral Officer, the highest voting percentage was recorded in Gularbhoj Nagar Panchayat where 48 per cent electorate cast their votes followed by Dineshpur with 37 per cent.

The Rudrapur municipal corporation witnessed 31 percent polling till 12 am while the second corporation of the district in Kashipur stood at 28 per cent. Former Congress minister, Tilak Raj Behar, cast his vote at National public school in ward no. 38 Awas Vikas colony while BJP legislator Rajkumar Thukra exercised his franchise at Adarsh colony government school ward no. 30.
Meanwhile, in ward no. 8 of Transit Camp area of the city the police have arrested BJP candidate for the councilor's post, ShivGangwar, on allegations of creating ruckus at the polling both.
