DEHRADUN: The south-west monsoon has once again become active over
Uttarakhand with rain activity likely to rise in both hills and plains of the state for the next few days.
Bikram Singh, director of regional meteorological centre, said that a ‘red alert’ of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for isolated places in Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts for September 28.
“Rains have increased in Uttarakhand and will further intensify in next few days,” Singh said.
In past 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers lashed several places in Uttarakhand with Kalsi receiving maximum 100mm rainfall, while Haldwani and Ramnagar recorded 90mm and 60mm rainfall respectively.
