NEW DELHI: Satisfied with the handling of the situation arising after conviction of
Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, BJP top brass has ruled out possibility of removing Haryana chief minister
Manohar Lal Khattar.
BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday held a meeting with other leaders including general secretary (in charge (Haryana), Anil Jain and Bhupendra Yadav about the current situation in the state and took stock of the violence that took place subsequent to Ram Rahim’s conviction.
Shah and other leaders were reportedly convinced about the tactful handling of the situation otherwise casualties could have been far more.
Violence was contained in barely three hours and our priority was to ensure that Ram Rahim reaches court, otherwise, it could have amounted to contempt of court," a leader said, saying that the party leadership had neither summoned Khattar nor was there was any plan to remove him.
