NEW DELHI: A 52-year-old blind music teacher and his wife were stabbed to death at their apartment in the Bhagwati Garden area of Dwarka on Saturday evening.
The bodies were found with multiple stab injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate personal enmity as the motive behind the murder. The police also suspect the involvement of more than one person behind the double murder.

Around 7pm, the couple’s daughter and her friend returned home and found the door to the third-floor apartment open. On entering the flat, they found Hari Ballabh and Shanti Singh (48) lying near each other with more than a dozen wounds in their abdomen, chest and neck. They were also strangled by the killers. The police suspect the attack to have taken place around an hour before the daughter reached home.
“We have definite leads about the suspect and would trace him soon,” said Madhup Tewari, joint commissioner, western range.
Hari Ballabh used to work as a music teacher with a private school in Kanjhawala while his wife was a home-maker. They also have a son who stays at the nearby Mohan Garden Extension.
Cops found that the entry to the house was friendly. The attack may have taken place following some argument, a source said. The killers seemed to have fled in a hurry, leaving the door partially open. Cops have sent three empty glasses for a forensic examination.

Eyewitnesses claimed that they did not find anything suspicious during the day. The apartment is located in a market area that remains crowded on Saturdays. The CCTV footage focusing on the entrance to the apartment are being scanned.
Cops are also speaking to the family members to find out if the victims were having any enmity with someone in the area. Their mobile phones have also been sent for an analysis.
A man who has been staying at the same building and visiting the couple regularly is also being questioned. The man owns a taxi service and a property shop in the area.
The bodies have been sent for an autopsy at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in west Delhi and will be handed over to the family members on Sunday.
