Customs recently arrested a Canadian woman at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport for smuggling in 14 gold bangles worth over Rs 38 lakh.

NEW DELHI: Customs recently arrested a Canadian woman at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport for smuggling in 14 gold bangles worth over Rs 38 lakh.
She was intercepted by the Customs officials at the green channel, discovered gold in her baggage and arrested her.
The incident occurred on Sunday when the woman arrived at T3 from Dubai. She was intercepted after crossing the green channel, following which a detailed baggage inspection and physical check led to the recovery of 1kg gold bangles.
