NEW DELHI: Delhi boy Archit Bubna has come third in the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced). He wants to pursue BTech in computer science but isn’t sure if he wants to go to IIT Delhi or Bombay.
A student of Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, Archit began taking coaching for this exam since he was in Class VI as he knew he wanted to be an engineer. He scored 97% in his Class XII Boards.

“JEE (Advanced) question papers require high amount of thinking compared with JEE (Main). I had joined coaching and studied every day for three to four hours,” said Archit. He will also be the first in the family to become an engineer.
Archit says he was confident about getting a good rank. His father is a businessman and mother a homemaker. He has an elder sister who is pursuing a course at the National Institute of Fashion Technology. He loves to spend time playing online games, but clearly said he doesn’t like PubG.
The second topper, Himanshu Gaurav Singh, joined a coaching centre in Delhi and also appeared for the exam here. But he is from Allahabad and at present a resident of Gorakhpur. He also wants to do BTech in computer science and will join IIT Bombay.
“I have heard from seniors that IIT Bombay is the best for computer science,” said Himanshu who will also be the first engineer in his family. His father teaches electronics at the polytechnic in Gorakhpur. He undertook coaching in Delhi for two years after Class XII.

“I was undergoing coaching there (Gorakhpur), but decided to come to Delhi after Boards,” said Himanshu who ranked 14 in JEE (Main) and scored 99% in Class XII.
Himanshu studied six to eight hours daily and credits his parents for motivating him. In his free time, he plays badminton.
Of 1,61,319 candidates who appeared in both papers of the exam, 38,705 cleared it.
