NEW DELHI: What was seemingly a road accident death turned out to be a brutal murder in northwest Delhi. The victim was a 27-year-old man, Brij Kishore, whose body was found near a flyover, with the postmortem revealing injuries inconsistent with those of a traffic accident. It also said that the man’s spine broke due to a major fall. According to police, Kishore’s employer suspected him of having an affair with his wife, and murdered him.
Kishore worked at the Maurya Enclave area residence of two cousins, Sonu and Akash, and took care of their cows and other animals.
Akash suspected Kishore of having an affair with his wife and on June 23, the duo caught hold of Kishore and thrashed him. They kept hitting him and kicking him until he fell unconscious.

Postmortem report says victim didn’t die from fall
Later at night, they took him on their motorcycle and pushed him off the flyover opposite Haiderpur water plant to make it look like an accidental death. Police on Monday arrested Akash while raids are on to catch Sonu.
The cops initially had some difficulty tracing Kishore’s family. “Police officials went to various villages in Farrukhabad and finally managed to trace his brother who was brought to Delhi on June 28. The brother identified the deceased and the body was sent for a postmortem examination, the report of which came on July 3. The same day a case of murder was registered,” said DCP northwest
Vijayanta Arya.
Investigating officials revealed that Kishore’s body was found near the Haiderpur water plant but no one nearby had a clue about where he worked. “As per his postmortem report, his death was due to the combined effort of pressing on the neck and the rupture of the intestine by blunt force, his spine also had multiple fractures. The doctor suggested that someone with bare feet pressed the neck of the victim which led to his death. We were told by local sources that he would buy liquor from slum areas through a contact,” said an officer privy to the investigation.
A police team identified the liquor suppliers in the area and found that Kishore earlier worked as a labourer but didn’t have any work during the lockdown and started working for Akash and Sonu. In return, Sonu would give him some money and alcohol.
