NEW DELHI: When chief minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurates the new Rs 278-crore Rao Tula Ram (RTR) flyover on Outer Ring Road on Tuesday morning, he will be signalling an end to a 10-year trauma of city commuters on this stretch.
With this, the journey to IGI Airport and Gurugram is now expected to be much faster and smoother.
That was the purpose of the original flyover too, but it was mysteriously reduced to half its width and soon became a painful bottleneck that the city had to put up with all these years.

The contractor involved in the project was penalised and, finally, work picked up pace. An underpass and skywalk, part of this project, will be ready by the end of this year.
