Four gunmen fire at shopowner in Delhi, flee

Gunmen chased a shopowner through the streets of Usmanpur and opened fire at him when he tried to flee on a bike through a lane in northeast Delhi's Usmanpur. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the mouth of the lane. It was found that the man had a dispute with some people at his village in Bulandshahr. The incident created panic in the area.

NEW DELHI: Gunmen chased a shopowner through the streets of Usmanpur and opened fire at him when he tried to flee on a bike through a lane in northeast Delhi's Usmanpur. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the mouth of the lane. It was found that the man had a dispute with some people at his village in Bulandshahr. The incident created panic in the area.

The incident happened around 6pm on Thursday evening when the victim, Mohammad Hassan, was on his way to his shop in lane number 18. It was found that he had a fight with the accused at their village over observing Muharram a few weeks back, during which the accused had threatened him with dire consequences.
On Thursday, four men carrying pistols tracked down Hassan and followed him till the road outside his shop and opened fire. Hassan was riding pillion on a bike along with his friend and fell off the two-wheeler after being shot.
"We have registered a case of attempt to murder against Hassan's rival and are looking for him in the locality," said Ved Prakash Surya, DCP, northeast.
