NEW DELHI: The mobile phone of a journalist was stolen from her car’s dashboard when she had gone for a walk at west Delhi’s Pusa institute on Tuesday morning.
The victim, Ravinder Bawa, had parked her car near the entrance. When she returned an hour later, she was shocked to find the glass the front passenger window shattered and her mobile phone missing. Her wallet and other things in the car were, however, intact.
Bawa posted on Twitter: “You go for morning walk and your mobile gets stolen-what a way to begin Dussehra 2019, a day of triumph of good against evil, in ur city. Ppl around told that in outside Pusa gate morning walkers are facing this regularly. Is one safe in Delhi till nothing happens? (sic)”
Bawa later told TOI: “I reached the institute around 7am. I kept my mobile phone in the dashboard and went for a walk. I came back at 8am, only to find the glass of my car’s window shattered. I quickly checked for my wallet and other things, but they were intact. When I opened the dashboard, I realised that my phone was stolen. They must have noticed me putting the phone in the dashboard.”
The victim went to the Inderpuri police station and filed an e-FIR for theft.
