NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old labourer was killed after he was allegedly crushed under sacks of plastic while working in a factory in south Delhi’s Okhla phase-2. Police said that initially no one realised that the man had been crushed until another labourer saw his hand.
The man, identified as Manjay Kumar (32), was a resident of a nearby JJ colony. His family alleged that he was murdered and the body was hidden under the sacks as a cover-up.
They claimed that Kumar’s body neither had a head injury that could have been caused due to the fall of a 25-kilo sack nor were there any bruises on his body.
The body has been sent for an autopsy. Police have registered a case of death due to negligence but have not ruled out the allegations of the family yet.
Kumar belonged to Saharsa in Bihar and had been staying with his wife in Delhi for the past 10 years. He used to work as a machine operator at the factory producing plastic pellets.
