RAIPUR: Panic prevailed at a village in the outskirts of the state capital following an explosion that left a deep crater on Monday morning. While no one was injured, further investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the blast.
According to police, the explosion occurred near a godown in
Todgaon village when a woman who lives nearby burned garbage at the site.
Soon after the explosion, police rushed to the spot along with the
bomb disposal squad (BDS),
forensic team and
sniffer dogs to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion.
The BDS team found out traces of fuse used in triggering bombs at the spot.
While fortunately there were no injuries in the incident, villagers of Todgaon were in a state of panic after the explosion which left a small crater at the spot.
Prima facie police found in its investigation that a bundle of fuse that was buried in the ground at the site which exploded after garbage was burned. Meanwhile, police are investigating how the fuse reached the spot.
