NEW DELHI: Property tax portals of civic bodies are facing multiple glitches. While north and south civic bodies are witnessing technical issues, east corporation’s site had to be shut down.
Now, EDMC has extended the deadline for availing 15% rebate from June 30 to July 31. “Site is under updation, date of rebate 15% has been extended by a month,” the message on the website said.
Corporation officials blame the troubles being faced by citizens on the massive rush to avail discount if the annual property tax is filed before the first quarter of the financial year.
A senior north corporation official said that around 25,000 people are using the website every day and that is why the site has become slow. “We are updating our software to cater to more people simultaneously,” he added.
Tech Mahindra and Information technology department of the municipal body are responsible for maintaining the website and related infrastructure. Property tax department of the south body has written to the agencies about the frequent trouble with the portal.
A senior SDMC official confirmed that their zonal offices have been receiving multiple complaints regarding glitches.
