Replicas of seven wonders of the world from different ages in Delhi's park
NEW DELHI: The much awaited tourist attraction in city — Wonders of the World Park — comprising replicas of iconic edifices from around the globe will be opened for public on February 19.
The clones at the park have been fabricated with scrap automobile parts.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will also be charging entrance fees from visitors. Corporation officials said that though the decision on ticket prices yet to be taken, it is assumed that a ticket for an adult will cost Rs 50 and for children it will be Rs 25.
However, students of SDMC primary schools will get free entry to the park during scheduled trips organised by schools.

“We have also decided to organise cultural evenings after some time to maximise footfall. Talks are also on to start light and sound shows showcasing the history of these seven landmarks,” said a senior SDMC official.
It will be the first tourist attraction capital to be lit up solely through renewable energy. SDMC has also installed a wind mill to meet the power demand of the park near Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal in southeast Delhi.
“We have installed three solar trees at the park, each with a capacity to generate up to six kilowatt of power. In addition to this, a wind turbine, which will generate 2KW power will also be functional,” said the official.
An SDMC official said that since the power consumption at the park would be less than the production, the extra 10-12 kilowatt would be fed into the grid. The civic body will get credit for this power in its power use through net-metering.
