Woman bobbitises boyfriend over marriage refusal

NEW DELHI: A 36-year-old man was bobbitised by his 22-year-old girlfriend after he refused to marry her on Thursday evening in Mangolpuri. The man wanted to end the relationship as his family had objected to the age difference between the couple. The woman, however, insisted on continuing with the relationship.
The man was allegedly called to the woman’s house by her family, thrashed and then bobbitised when he refused to accept their demands.The woman’s family members have been absconding since the incident. The victim was admitted to a government hospital and underwent surgery on Friday. However, doctors told the police that though the man’s life was saved they couldn’t attach the organ back.
“We have registered a case under IPC Section 326 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) at Mangolpuri police station,” said a police officer.
In his complaint, the man said that he had returned from work and was preparing dinner when the woman’s sister-in-law called and asked him to come over to their house for an important discussion.
When he entered the house, the sister-in-law took him to the bathroom, pushed him inside with the woman and shut the door. The woman then forced him to remove his clothes and have sex with him, but he refused saying that her marriage had been fixed elsewhere. “She got upset with this and rushed out. She then brought back a knife and attacked me,” said the man in his complaint.
When the man started shouting with pain, they woman and her family pushed him out of the house. Hearing his calls for help, a few neighbours came out of their homes and called the police. The man was found lying naked and unconscious on the road and rushed to the hospital.
Earlier, the man had had an argument with the woman when he refused to marry her. The woman’s brother and sister-in-law kept instigating her to teach him a lesson for refusing the proposal.
