Four siblings who lost three family members in 8 months end life in Faridabad

FARIDABAD: After police discovered the decomposed bodies of four siblings in their house in Surajkund's Dayal Bagh Colony in Faridabad on Saturday, it is being assumed that they ended their lives on Thursday. They were last seen that day by the neighbours.
Police had been informed around 10am on Saturday after the residents and the caretaker of the society detected stench emanating from the house.

The deceased, Pradeep Mathews (32) and his sisters Meena (40), Beena (38) and Jaya (36), were all unmarried and unemployed. Neighbours said they were dealing with an emotional crisis having lost three family members in the past eight months. In May, they had rented the apartment in which their bodies were found in different places. Two of the siblings had died in separate bedrooms, one in the drawing room and one in the lobby. They had used ropes tied to the ceiling fans to hang themselves.
During the investigation, the cops recovered a suicide note stating that no one was responsible for their deaths. The note talks the four people's emotional and financial struggles since the death of their parents and another sibling in the recent past.
The suicide note, signed by all the four, said that a hotel owed them Rs 30,000, having given their mother only Rs 70,000 of a promised Rs 1 lakh. If recovered, the amount was to be used to pay the electricity bills of their earlier house. The suicide note also bequeathed articles and medical supplies from the house to church and charity, and detailed the money the quartet owed to other people. They expressed a desire to be buried in the
cemetery in Burari.
The father, a Haryana gove rnment employee, died around eight months ago, while, the mother, also a government employee, died three months ago. Sanju, the youngest of the children, passed away a month and a half ago at the age of 27. Since the death of their parents, the siblings had needed to borrow money for their daily needs, including the expenses for the dialysis for an ailing sister.
Inspector Vishal Kumar, station house officer of Surajkund police station, told TOI that though it is appeared a case of suicide, police would still investigate the deaths thoroughly. "We have sent the bodies to the Faridabad mortuary, but the autopsy will probably be conducted at PGI Rohtak because the bodies are decomposed," said Kumar.
