The jawans then requested station master to let them keep the train standing on Faridabad station, where they cooked meal.
RPF, GRP and Railway officials also reached there by then, but the jawans convinced them by narrating their ordeal. Jawans said that they had food at 8:30 pmon Monday in Jammu. They were told by their officers that they were supposed to reach Raipur in a special train. They were told that they would not get food in the journey anywhere, so they kept gas stove, veggies, vessels, spices etc with them. The train started at 11 pm
from Samba. It had a few short halts in the outer areas and reached Faridabad at around 4 pmon Tuesday. As the train became slow, jawans pulled the chain.
When the train stopped, jawans got off the 17 coaches of the special train. Station master KC Meena argued that he had no information of train's stoppage, but the jawans told him their story and he got convinced.
Jawans then went to nearby Gandhi Colony and purchased some eatables and fruits. Shopkeepers understood their condition and helped them.
Local people were also polite and humble to them. They sold the items at cheaper rates. Arranging a few quick eatables, they rushed to the platfrom and lit gas stoves at many places to help the jawans prepare a proper meal.
Haryana policeman switched on the submersible to help them with adequate water. The jawans then prepared poori-sabzi and chapatis.
