Churchill opposes Aadhaar link to a/cs

PORVORIM: Benaulim NCP MLA Churchill Alemao on Tuesday said that government should stop linking Aadhaar cards to bank accounts as many Goans who had completed the exercise had gotten duped. “When you link Aadhaar cards to banks, they (conmen) get to know what amount is in the bank and they remove the money.
I know seamen have been cheated,” Alemao said. He also said his private member’s resolution on the installation of Jack Sequeira’s statue in the assembly complex was not mentioned in the list of House’s business.In response, speaker Pramod Sawant said as per the procedure of the business of the House, the speaker had the power to decide. tnn
