PANAJI: Chief minister
Pramod Sawant, who is in New Delhi for the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled on June 15, will not be available to the public till Sunday.
During his visit, the chief minister is expected to meet Union minister of mines, Prahlad Joshi over resumption of mining in the state.
Iron ore mining is shut in Goa since March 2018 and the issue was a major part of the campaign for parliamentary polls and the byelections.
Sawant, while campaigning, had promised the mining affected people to restart mining in Goa.
One mining lease holder has already been allowed to go ahead with environmental clearances to start mining.
Sawant is also expected to meet home minister and BJP national president Amit Shah, human resource development minister Ramesh Pokhrial and environment minister Prakash Javadekar.
