PANAJI/VASCO: Several incidents of water-logging and uprooted trees were reported after heavy rains lashed the state on Wednesday.
Water-logging at Agasaim due to the ongoing construction activity of the new Zuari bridge resulted in traffic jams on either side of the bridge. Commuters were stuck in traffic for almost 20 minutes. Traffic jams were also witnessed late evening along the same route.

The jam impacted KTC bus transport services, leaving passengers stranded at the Panaji bus stand for more than half an hour. No provisions were made for deploying additional buses.
DySP, traffic, North Goa Dharmesh Angle said the problem has been resolved after an outlet was made for the water to flow out.
Vasco fire station personnel were on their toes clearing uprooted trees. Traffic movement was disrupted due to fallen trees blocking roads at Mestawaddo, Matve-Dabolim and the Vasco-Cortalim stretch. Many areas, including the entrance of Swatantra path, were water-logged.
