Goa police arrests Odisha native with narcotic substance at Shakali

PANAJI: A native from Odisha, residing in Shakali, has been arrested by the Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa police for being in possession of narcotic substance worth Rs 5.4 lakh. Police said the accused was involved in the supply and distribution of ganja in and around Shakali.
Police said that they received a tip-off that a person was involved in distributing ganja. Durig their investigating, it came to light that the accused has been staying at a rented premises from where he was operating the business.
The police arrested the 28-year-old after laying a trap and the judicial magistrate first class remanded the accused to two days’ police custody.
