GU among top 2.2% in BRICS region

Panaji: Goa University has been declared to be among the top 2.2% of universities in the BRICS region.
From among 8976 universities in BRICS region, Goa University retained its ranking of 201 out of 250, performing among the top 53% in QS BRICS University rankings, the QS World University Rankings published recently stated.
The rankings of 201 have remained the same since 2014.Seven of this year’s top ten universities are Chinese.
The university fared well in its ‘Staff with PhDs’ indicator scoring 86.5 points out of 100. For its ‘Papers per faculty’ and ‘Citation per paper’ indicators the university established in 1985, scored 51.9 and 47.9 points out of 100.
It fared poorly in academic reputation and employee reputation.
