HSRP: Cabinet nod awaited to hire pvt fitters

Panaji: Even as the order to permit automobile dealerships in Goa with permission to install high security registration plates (HSRP) on vehicles is awaited, the contractor has already started working on an app to incorporate number plate fitters with its system.
“Once the HSRP fitment is done on the vehicle, the fitter will have to open the HSRP mobile app and click the images of the vehicle and upload them.This will be recorded in our server. This app is only for HSRP fitters who don’t directly work under us,” assistant general manager, Real Mazon India Ltd, Biswajeet Mukherjee told TOI.
Transport minister Mauvin Godinho had said last month that private vendors will be allowed to fit HSRPs on vehicles for just Rs 100 more than the standard rates prescribed by the transport department.
“Unless we get approval from the cabinet to appoint the local dealers, we are not going to do anything,” Mukherjee said.
