Illegal hill cutting irks Nerul locals

Saligao: The issue of illegal hill cutting for construction activities dominated the Nerul gram sabha on Sunday.
People questioned the sarpanch, Piedade Almeida, over hill cutting in the village and demanded that the sarpanch initiate stern action.
The sarpanch said that a resident was planning to do some construction activity and “it is not proper to initiate action against a local villager”, but the villagers demanded action into the matter as the activity is illegal.The sarpanch agreed to look into the matter. tnn
