Margao cops nab five for murder attempt

Margao: Margao town police on Wednesday arrested five persons and is searching for two more in connection with a case booked against them on charges of attempt to murder on Sunday.
Police gave the names of those arrested as Raja Talwar, 34, Vipul Pattari, 21, Sadique Ahmed Shaikh, 20, Damodar Janappa Naik, 26 and Manju alias Pandya Talwar, 22.
While Manju was arrested in Margao, the other four were arrested at Yellapur, Margao town PI Kapil Nayak informed.
Davorlim resident Maqbool Khan was assaulted by the accused over some previous enmity between them near the Margao fire station on Sunday. Khan was severely injured after he was hit by the accused on his head and stomach. tnn
