PANAJI: The screening schedule for the second half of the 48th
Iffi from November 25 to 28 was released by the organisers on Thursday, but it did not show any slot for the
film ‘S
Durga’. The Kerala high court had directed information & broadcasting ministry to screen the certified version of the film earlier this wek.
Film director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan had gone to court after S Durga was withdrawn by the ministry under the Indian
Panorama section, even as the jury had selected it among the 26 films to be shown under the section at Iffi.
Festival director Sunit Tandon did not take questions on S Durga’s screening while efforts of the film’s lead actors Kannan Nair and Rajshri Deshpande to meet the director at the ongoing festival’s venue in Goa failed.
“No more ambush, no more ambush, the festival director started saying, when I attempted to meet him about S Durga’s screening schedule,” said Nair. The film’s director is in Australia.
