Panaji-based duo held for forgery, duping youth

PANAJI: Crime branch arrested two businessmen for criminal breach of trust, cheating and forgery and also accused the two of duping several youth on the pretext of giving them jobs abroad. According to the police plaint, Andre Agnel Sucorro Rodrigues and Vijay Tulsiani contrived and used a third person’s documents to establish a fake recruitment agency thriugh which many were duped.

The complainant, Nilesh Wagh from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, said on Tuesday afternoon the two accused allegedly used a copy of his Aadhaar card to create a fake card by affixing the photo of an unknown person on the forged document.
“The accused, Rodrigues and Tulsiani, have been arrested for their involvement in this crime,” said a police inspector with the Crime Branch office at Ribandar. “They forged the document thereby impersonating for the purpose of establishing a bogus recruitment agency in a rented premises. Further investigation of this case is in progress,” the officer said. Police inspector Rahul Parab is the investigating officer in the case.
A case has been filed under Sections 419, 420, 465, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal code against the two. The sections deal with cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery and criminal conspiracy.
Rodrigues is the chief executive officer of Avgur Estate India while Tulsiani has his registered address as Basserra Restaurant.
