Panaji cops bust sex trade racket

PANAJI: Pintu Ramdas Nayak, 24, a native of Karnataka and resident of Aradi, Candolim, was arrested by Panaji police on Wednesday for allegedly running a prostitution racket.
Another accused known only by the name Ankush, was found to have procured a girl from outside Goa and was caught handing her over to a customer near a hotel in Dona Paula, on Wednesday night. Nayak, too, was caught red-handed.Police said the latter lived off the earnings received from the racket he was operating. He is presently in police custody.
The survivor, who was rescued during the raid, has been lodged at the protective home in Merces. Further investigations are on.
