PANAJI: The state government on Thursday issued a circular making it compulsory for government employees working at the secretariat to link their Aadhaar number with the biometric attendance system.
The circular issued by general administration department (GAD) under secretary, Varsha Naik gave the details on how to link the number with the system.
“All group C employees of the secretariat are required to register their attendance on the biometric system which will be made compulsory from December 1,” she said.

Additional secretary (GAD) will have overall access/control of the maintenance of staff details, the circular stated.
Under secretary (GAD) will be designated as the nodal administrator for generating the attendance report and initiating action against absentees.
“Users will be created at different levels in the attendance system, which will include section officers who will have access to generate the attendance report. Under secretaries will have access to generate reports of their respective department employees under them, and additional/joint secretaries and secretaries will also have access for generating attendance reports of all employees of their respective departments,” she added.
