Shiroda local acquitted in murder case

MARGAO: Additional district and sessions court Judge Edgar Fernandes on Thursday acquitted Shiroda resident Sidharth Miringkar in the murder of Brahmanand Mamlekar in Ponda, citing lack of evidence to indicate the guilt of the accused.
While Mamlekar was reported missing on January 4, 2016, four days later his body was found in a forest at Tambdi Surla, Sacorda with injury marks on his head.Miringkar was accused of killing Mamlekar as he was unable to pay the latter’s loan.
