PANAJI: Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate on Friday held a meeting with the officials of various departments to review the facilities in Panaji. After hearing the grievances of residents, Monserrate asked PWD officials to enhance water supply to the capital city from the current two hours to four hours.
PWD officials said this would be done from September, once the new 27MLD water treatment plant at Opa becomes operational.

The plant is being readied to exclusively meet the needs of residents of Panaji and the Kadamba Plateau and surrounding areas.
At the meeting, Monserrate asked officials to keep their higher authorities posted about the problems being faced the people in their area of jurisdiction. The respective engineers should inform the higher-ups about the ground situation and how it could be improved, he said. “Don’t wait for people to come to you every now and then with complaints and then inform the higher ups,” he said.
